A show about the life and work of the French surrealists Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore. They were the first lesbian couple to make art together and were step-sisters, lovers and life-long collaborators, while Cahun was also a poet, essayist, literary critic, novelist, surrealist, symbolist, translator, comedienne, “constructor and explorer of objects”, photographer and revolutionary activist.
The project is currently in the early stages of development. It has received a five-minute scratch at the Old Vic, London, as one of the short-listed productions for the HighTide Festival, and has had support from the Playground Studio to develop the show over four days, which resulted in a 20-minute scratch at the studio.
